Mission Moment: Collegiate Campus Ministry

Mission Moment: Collegiate Campus Ministry

The Catholic Foundation proudly supports the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux in various capacities, including the management of the Bishop’s Appeal. Through our partnership, we work diligently to ensure that the appeal is effectively managed, allowing for the continued support and growth of vital ministries such as collegiate campus ministry, within the diocese.

We take great pride in its commitment to supporting collegiate campus ministry. This year, the Bishop’s Appeal has added collegiate campus ministry as a focal point, thanks to the support of Bishop Dorsonville, who was deeply passionate about the journey of young Catholics.

The Colonel Catholics at St. Thomas Aquinas at Nicholls State University holds immense importance. This community of young Catholic faithful plays a vital role in nurturing and guiding students in their faith during their college years. It provides a welcoming and inclusive environment where students can explore their spirituality, deepen their faith, and find support in their journey as young Catholics. Through various activities, retreats, and events, they create opportunities for students to connect with one another and with their faith.

The support received from the Bishop’s Appeal enables the Colonel Catholics to continue their impactful work on campus. It helps fund resources, such as retreats, guest speakers, and educational materials, that enrich the spiritual lives of students. Additionally, it allows for the provision of pastoral care and guidance, ensuring that students have access to spiritual counsel when needed.

The Catholic Foundation recognizes the significance of collegiate campus ministry in shaping the lives of young Catholics. It is through initiatives like the Bishop’s Appeal that they can continue to empower and support campus ministries across the country. We encourage our Catholic faithful to contribute to the Bishop’s Appeal. So that together, we can create a lasting impact on the lives of young Catholics and ensure that their faith remains strong and vibrant throughout their college years and beyond.
