The Women’s Giving Circle is a new initiative of The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana dedicated to bringing together a group of women to learn about the needs in our Diocese and community, to raise awareness and funds for philanthropic giving. Designed as a giving circle, this group will leverage a pooled fund to have greater impact on the organizations they select.
Through collective giving, collaboration, and shared faith, The Mother Teresa Women’s Giving Circle seeks to promote philanthropy that empowers women, compels action, and glorifies God.
The Mother Teresa Women’s Giving Circle brings together Catholic women from diverse backgrounds with one common goal: to bring about change through the power of grants that transform lives and build the body of Christ. Throughout the year, we will gather to learn about organizations and their needs, and decide together which projects to fund. There will also be opportunities to share ideas, serve with one another and, of course, plenty of time to socialize.
Women of any age who want to have a meaningful impact on our Catholic community.
Members will vote annually on recipient beneficiaries serving the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux and our local community. The voting process and grant announcement occurs late spring/early summer.

We’re proud to launch our Virtual Tours of each of the six nonprofits who received funds this past Spring of 2020.Typically we would be visiting these nonprofits in person, and rather than cancelling all together, we felt it very important to continue our plan but take it virtual. This spring 120+ members of our Mother Teresa Women’s Giving Circle granted out $83,000 to the below nonprofits. Our members wanted to ensure at the peak of COVID and the stay at home order, our local nonprofits continued to receive the much needed support so they could continue to help women, children and families, especially this year!
