Danos Family Foundation Awards Grants to Address Several Important Diocesan Needs

The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana (CFSL) recently was presented generous grant funding from the Mary and Al Danos Family Foundation to support several critical ministries within the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux. The Mary and Al Danos Family Foundation has supported initiates within the diocese for many years. Through their prayers and support the diocese has been able to provide perpetual funding through their generous endowments for both seminarian education and Catholic Charities as well as do a number of projects to help further modernize our diocese. This coming fiscal summer and fall, the diocese will be able to upgrade their servers and necessary backups for not only the diocesan offices but also all satellite offices for ministries and all of the Catholic Schools within the diocese, securing our data and technology.

Bishop Fabre and Amy Ponson, the executive director of the Catholic Foundation accepted grants from Rene Danos David to support the following ministries:

  • $100,000 Support of Mary’s Manor
  • $60,000 Mary and Al Danos Family Catholic Charities Endowment
  • $60,000 Mary and Al Danos Family Seminarian Endowment
  • $25,000 Grant to upgrade servers and backups for diocesan offices including satellite locations and all Catholic schools

“I am sincerely grateful to the Danos family and their continued generosity in support of the Catholic Church and its mission here in South Louisiana,” said Bishop Shelton J. Fabre. “I know it was the expressed intent of Mary and Al that their estate would provide this most valuable support, and I know they are smiling down in loving appreciation for these gifts from the next two generations of their wonderful family.”
