Announcement: Roman Robichaux’s Virtue Award

The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana is thrilled to announce the establishment of the Roman Robichaux’s Virtue Award. This award program was made possible by the Roman Robichaux Foundation and aims to honor outstanding students who exemplify virtues within our Catholic schools and church parishes. We are incredibly grateful for the Robichaux Family for creating this endowed award in honor of their beautiful son, Roman Robichaux, who truly was an exemplar of Catholic Virtue. This award will provide invaluable support to deserving students as they pursue their educational goals.

The Roman Robichaux Virtue Award has been created to commend students who lead virtuous lives, demonstrating exceptional moral character and embodying the principles upheld by our Catholic faith. This scholarship program serves as a testament to the strong commitment of the Robichaux family towards fostering the growth and development of our youth within the Catholic community.

Beginning in the Spring of 2024, both Catholic schools and church parishes within the diocese will have the opportunity to apply on behalf of their exemplary students for this scholarship funding for elementary and high school. Through this application process, schools and parishes can nominate students who have exhibited exceptional virtues, such as compassion, integrity, humility, and kindness, among others.

The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana is deeply grateful to the Roman Robichaux Foundation for their unwavering dedication to supporting the education and character formation of our students. This collaboration exemplifies the power of philanthropy in positively impacting the lives of our future leaders.

‘Our family is honored to create this award to not only keep the memory of Roman alive, but also to encourage our youth to be virtuous and courageous. It is our passion to encourage students to live their faith throughout their lives, in the classroom, at home, and throughout their lives with their friends. Partnering with the Catholic Foundation as allowed us to align our mission and vision to make an impact on our youth for years to come,’ stated Simone Robichaux, mother of Roman Robichaux.

The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana invites all Catholic schools and church parishes to eagerly anticipate the launch of the scholarship application process in Spring 2024. By identifying and supporting virtuous students, we envision a brighter and more compassionate future for our Catholic community.
