Phase two will provide for the essential ministry of Catholic Charities, Individual and Family Assistance (IFA). On average, Catholic Charities currently receives more than 200 requests monthly for rent and utilities assistance from families/individuals across our diocese, many of which come from our Hispanic communities. IFA program relies on the generosity of others annually to meet the needs of these families. The Bishop Dorsonville Endowed Fund for IFA will provide perpetual funding for the IFA program ensuring that Catholic Charities not only meets the basic needs of families, but helps families back onto their feet to be productive citizens of our community. Housing assistance directly impacts the basic needs of families and keeps families from facing eviction and homelessness.
Goal for Phase 2: $2,500,000 endowed fund providing estimated $10,000 per month to Catholic Charities Individual and Family Assistance Program, meeting the needs of families for rent and utilities.
