16 Sep Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana Announces Exciting Board, Staff, and Strategic Updates
The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana is pleased to share several significant updates that reflect the growth, leadership, and vision guiding our mission of service to the Church, parishes, ministries, and schools across the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux.
Celebrating Episcopal Leadership
We joyfully welcomed Bishop Simon Peter Engurait, who was ordained and installed on September 5, 2025. The Foundation was honored to play a role in this historic installation and is blessed to have Bishop Engurait as a member of our Board of Directors, bringing his pastoral guidance, faith, and leadership to the work of our Foundation.
Staff Leadership Advancement
Nancy Bernard, a dedicated member of our team for the past five years, has been promoted to Director of Foundation Operations. Formerly our Executive Assistant, Nancy has faithfully served as the right hand to our CEO, Amy Ponson. Her tireless dedication ensures the smooth operation of the Foundation while advancing its mission to support parishes, ministries, and schools across the Diocese.
Welcoming New Board Members
We are delighted to welcome three new members to our Board of Directors: Ali Rouse Royster, managing member of Rouses Markets; Cal Boudreaux, President of Boudreaux Properties; and Kirk Meche, retired President and CEO of Gulf Island Fabrication. Each brings professional expertise, deep commitment to our community, and faithful dedication to advancing the mission of the Foundation. Their willingness to answer the call to serve strengthens our work and inspires all who share in our ministry.
Honoring Outgoing Board Members
The Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to Charlotte Bollinger, JJ Buquet, and Dr. Chris Saal for their years of faithful service and leadership. Their dedication and guidance have made a lasting impact on the Foundation and the communities we serve, and we are deeply thankful for their steadfast commitment to Christ’s mission.
Gratitude to All Board Members
We also give thanks to all of our Board Members—past and present—for their prayerful leadership, wisdom, and generosity. Each member plays a vital role in advancing the mission of the Foundation, ensuring that parishes, schools, and ministries continue to flourish through faithful stewardship.
Strategic Planning and Board Retreat
The Foundation recently held a successful Board Retreat to welcome new members and complete strategic planning for the next five years. Guided by shared faith and vision, the Board explored goals, initiatives, and big dreams for the future. Special thanks to Mary Chauvin of the Etiquette Center of the South for facilitating this inspiring and productive gathering.
The Catholic Foundation of South Louisiana continues to grow in its service to the Church, nurturing generosity, leadership, and stewardship across the Diocese. These updates reflect the dedication of our Board, staff, and community to advancing the mission of Christ through meaningful support of Catholic parishes, schools, and ministries.
